The Heart of The Matter

I spent 27 minutes writing today, 1.25 pages roughly.

Jack and Val discuss how happy their daughter will be. How hard it is forgiving those who’ve hurt us – in particular those close to us – and she reminds him he isn’t doing it alone.

Something to ponder on. Do we forgive alone? I never really thought about it from that angle, but no, I don’t think we do. Jesus is there with us, present through the process, and as I’ve learned and experienced the Holy Spirit will speak His truth over you and the situation/person you’re forgiving. And as I’ve learned forgiveness, does come in layers.

Jack doesn’t know how to forgive a main source of his pain/trauma, and a lot of emotions surface upon trying to process this. And how does he process this? I know I’ve asked myself that, and felt the painful emotions and had to work thru those. I’m sure anyone reading this has too.

I thank God that He is a patient Father, who continues to hold out His hand and waits for us to take it. So we don’t have to make the painful journey alone, we do so with His strength, grace, and love.

I’ve shared this song before, but this came back to me again. A beautiful song, that is mind blowing for me, who sang this song – not a Christian artist. Don Henley. I always feel when artist who aren’t marketed as Christian sing songs like these, it says something about their beliefs, faith and character. I find often Holy Spirit gives me songs from artist who aren’t marketed as Christian artist, but how aptly and rightly they apply to the situation.

*** Fun question: Which artist or song were you given by Holy Spirit, that ministered to you, that wasn’t from a Christian artist and surprised you? ***
