A little more was typed up today, I got hung up on some revising the scenes with Holly and Jack, probably a little too much. I was struggling with the way the scene was conveyed, and if I was happy with it before moving on. I think for the most part I am, and when I go back to listen with Speech Note, I can always tweak a little more if better words arise!
I was telling my sister last night, I like writing in the 1980s era, before cell phones were an everyday item, and you reached someone with a pay phone or landline. It’s been nice getting into that mindset and setting.
I was born in 1986, so I don’t personally remember the 1980s. Most decades roll over a little into the next, and growing up in the 1990s I remember pay phones in the mall as the way you could make a needed call. Cell phones weren’t mainstream or popular then, and the ones that did exist, were expensive. Eventually, my mom did get a bag phone, that was kept under the car seat for emergencies. 🙂
Growing up, my sister had a pink see through/translucent phone, that I remember she and I would call into radio stations for either contest win chances or requesting songs, and then wait to record them on our cassette tapes. 🙂 (and then the annoyance when the radio DJ would talk over the song, or cut it off early! haha! Just the thought now, annoys me!)
I’m proud to be a 80s baby, and I hope no matter which decade you were born, you’re glad to be a part of that decade too. We’re all born right when we’re supposed to be, God’s got a plan and a purpose in the timing. As it says in Esther 4:14 (AMPC): For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?
Rejoice in the year & decade you were born, and that you’re here now. We all have a role to play, a call to answer, and if you don’t know what yours is yet, seek the Holy Spirit for this revelation.
I love you all, and thanks for reading! 🙂
