Day 33: Here We Go!

So I got in small chunks of writing today. But I am excited to write what’s coming next, because it’s a Taylor fueled scene, and for our lead male, Jack, Taylor scenes bring a sense of dread now.

Taylor is a dealer/pusher, and he’s convinced that Shauna stole some of his product and has given it to Jack. Jack has been clean for over a week, and He got saved during that time, and he has told Taylor such and that he doesn’t have it. None of which Taylor believes, and he mocks Jack on that, and threatens him over it.

And Jack keeps seeing the black Cutlass following him around – the black cutlass that belongs to his stepfather, Allan. He’s afraid for his daughter, Holly, and with Taylor leering around the edges, wants to keep her safe.

So when he sees the black Cutlass on the road to Holland, it’s just a fluke, right? Except it’s following what looks to be Dave’s VW Van.

Oh yes, I very much look forward to writing the next scenes! Will also explore Jack needing to tell Holly a hard truth about him, before someone else tells her.

What scenes or characters do you look forward to writing? Do these scenes push the lead forward into action, set up a scene (good or bad)? How does the Holy Spirit help you make these scenes the best?

The song that came to me while writing this, “Sick Cycle Carousel” by Lifehouse. A great song, that I feel describes Jack’s journey well. And I think a crossroads / decision that we all come to, in one form or another: We can change and get off for good … Or stay on and keep being destructive.
