I got some writing done today and some journaling done as well.
I’ve started the scene with Jack and Taylor’s lackeys, some more supernatural tones to that scene. Jack is starting to face another health challenge, that he is suspecting connected to his prior drug use. He’s realizing, too, he needs to tell Holly the truth about this, before someone else does in a mean/cruel/unkind way.
I look forward to continuing to write more of this scene, and still trying to kind of piece it together with a future scene I’ve had planned for quite some time.
In other news, my YT account was suspended due to the “issue” YT is claiming about spam/deceptive content. I appealed it and thankfully, my account was restored quickly. I have so much research & playlist on there for my book, music and spiritual content, it was upsetting to think about losing all of that.
In more other news, I felt HS gave me the okay to order the Kobo Libra Colour! I had researched so many color devices, and finally decided I’ll just wait until Kindle releases one. I hadn’t given the Kobo much thought at the time, because it didn’t have the text to speech capabilities, I was hoping for, but after listening to my Last Year Single webinar, there was quite a bit that leaped out at me, and then that specific eReader came to my mind.
I had thought about buying the H20 model before I bought my Oasis, but decided to keep with Kindle. And I may still keep my Oasis, as it works great now that its in a better sleep case, and Linux fixed the hard drive issues (which I think were contributing to its wonkiness prior).
One thing that stood out to me about the Kobo Libra Colour, is the repairability factor. Unfortunately, the Oasis has a sealed in battery, and from what I’ve heard/read, very few have been able to replace it properly without cracking the screen. So I really like the idea of an eReader that is designed to be user repairable. That is how every electronic device should be made, imho, and I feel supporting a company like Kobo in that effort is very important.
All it takes is a small spark, to start a fire. Just like I’ve learned, Samsung has started to make a model of phone with a replaceable battery again! I never thought I’d see that start to make a comeback, so I am very excited about that, and that this Kobo will have serviceable parts and replacements available to the users. 🙂
I can’t wait to test it out, and my first read on there will be “Peter Pan” by J.M. Barrie, after HS gave me a quote for it, to help with my grieving process over the loss of my guinea pig, Dixie, back in June.
So this was a bit longer than usual, and also delved into reading a bit too. But reading and writing are extremely intertwined, I think it’s Jerry Jenkins that says a good writer, is a reader too! (probably not the exact quote, but along those lines).
What eReader do you use (if any) and what do you love about it? 🙂
In closing, this song came to me. I remember when I first heard it as a kid, I was like ooh that’s a funky beat! 🙂
