I wasn’t quite sure what to blog about today, but then I thought perhaps the topic needs to be “hope”. I felt the pull yes, this was it — HOPE.
The section I just wrote is about Valerie’s hope. Hope that Jackson would remember his wife, his family, and return to her. She didn’t want to give up on him, but her hope deteriorated and was deferred enough, she thought it was time to move on with her life after 6 years. But now Jack is back, and he’s fighting for her, their marriage, and she wants to run the race with him.
Six years is a long time to hope, and she almost gave up, but she didn’t. Hope is so important to keep, I think it’s very connected with Faith.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.
– Proverbs 13:12 NLT
What a beautiful and hopeful, renewing scripture that is! I think hope & faith help carry us from day to day. And I love the 2nd half of that scripture, how beautiful: a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.
That reminds me of the beginning of Psalms 1:1-3:
Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
What a faithful & hope filled God we serve! With Thanksgiving almost upon us, I know many may reflect on what they’re thankful for, but I would like to ask: What are you hopeful for?
I’d love for you to share in the comments!
I am hopeful for a new fresh season/start, for my books to be published and read by many and help to change lives. I am hopeful for many dreams and desires to be fulfilled in 2025. I am ready for God’s abundance and realization of my hopes & dreams! For the Lord to show himself in a HUGE way!
